Diane, Hou, and Scott had car troubles about 2 hours from our house, which had to be sorted out on Wednesday evening. Brian and Danielle went to help them, and Mom and Dad were driving behind them from Medford. So when they caught up to them, Mom, Diane and Owen came in Mom and Dad's car, and everyone else kept trying to work out the car problem. They ended up coming in Brian's car and leaving the car on the side of the road. I don't know what it is about people coming to visit us in Southern California, but something always happens to someone. It's never a smooth trip for everyone.
That evening, Daniel's family all got here in the early evening, and we had spaghetti for dinner and played a game. We had a good time. I also made some pumpkin cinnamon rolls, as a kind of celebration of Mom's birthday, which was the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving day was wonderful. Our house was FULL of people. It was pretty crazy. But we all talked and made food and played games. Dad and Scott went to take care of the car early on in the day and ended up bringing it back just in time for dinner (which turned out to be a lot later than we had planned ... for some reason, the oven shut off when we were cooking the turkey ...).
The rest of the weekend is kind of a blur at this point. I don't remember what all happened. Daniel's family went to the beach on Friday afternoon, and my family stayed to hang out. That evening, Mom, Diane, an Danielle went shopping for a movie and treats. We watched "Father of the Bride" (for Emily. She was getting married in a week and a half, and had never seen it!) and had root beer floats and played games. It was good fun! Then, Saturday, Brian and Danielle left to visit some of her family for the rest of the weekend; my parents and Scott went to see Uncle Bob and Aunt Liz; and Daniel's family stayed to hang out. Michael and Michelle came sometime in the morning, and Michael and Daniel went on a bike ride together.
It was so fun to have all the family here, to celebrate Camille and to be with us for Thanksgiving.
