Life has been so good lately. I mean, it's difficult having a new baby, with the constant feedings and the sleepless night (I'm not getting much sleep at all). BUT. I love my kids. And it's been so nice having Daniel around for the past several weeks. I sure do like having him around. Because, I mean, I just like him. But also, it's nice having the extra pair of eyes and hands.
Brooke started swim lessons last week, and is finishing up this week. She's loved having swim lessons and learning some swimming techniques. Daniel thinks that she won't be really swimming by the time she's done with swim lessons, but she'll learn more the more she goes to the pool and practices. And either way, she's really had fun.
While Daniel's been home, he usually does most things for the girls: feeding them, cleaning up messes, taking them out to do things. He also goes biking a little bit, works on projects and gets things done that need doing (insurance stuff, budget, ... things like that), which I super appreciate, too. He doesn't get much time with Jack, it seems. I hope he doesn't feel badly about that. It'll be a sad day when he goes back to work full-time next week. I've kind of let myself get used to having him around.
Camille's latest thing, other than pretending to be anybody except herself -- she especially likes being Brixton and Brooke, but she likes pretending to be animals, too (kitty, tiger, doggie) -- is making messes and getting into the food. She seems to be unusually good at making messes. Either that or Brooke was unusually clean at this age. My house seems to be a constant mess, and much of that mess is just from Camille. She's also been getting into the food cupboard and the fridge, just scavenging for snacks. Not any kind of snacks, though. She'll only take what she really likes. And then sometimes, when she starts eating something, she'll just leave most of it somewhere or throw it away. I'm constantly finding pieces of bread, bagel, banana, etc. with only one or two bites taken out of it, all over the house -- on the table, counter, upstairs in the toy shelves, in the trash cans... Plus, she's getting to that age where she says, "No." to everything, she's pushing her limits and testing her boundaries. It's been a whole lot of fun. And also a test to our patience. But she's just so dang cute, I can't hardly stand it. And it makes it so hard to be mad at her.
I spend my days feeding Jack and doing my occasional pumping. And when I'm not feeding Jack, I'm usually trying to sleep or eating. Doing so much feeding and pumping kind of sucks up all of my time and prevents me from doing much of anything else. I have been trying to workout some, and this month I'm doing a 30 day workout challenge with Lindsay Brin.
