It was fun to have so many visitors this summer! Julie came first, followed by Schpuck and Mom and Dad, and then Mom and Dad came back in mid July after they finished their cruise to Norway. It was kind of funny, because Julie planned her trip here first for the end of June. And then Schpuck decided she wanted to come the very next week, the first week of July! So we had visitors here for 2 solid weeks. Which was actually great. We loved having them.
We took both families to the aquarium both weeks. And we met up with Sammy and Melanie there as well. We ended up just getting a pass there, since we were going twice and would end up spending almost as much as a pass anyway. It was fun going to the aquarium with them!
Julie and I took Brooke and the big boys to the Saratoga Springs Temple one morning before Daniel had to be at work. I loved being in the temple with my family! It was so lovely and peaceful.
Sammy and Melanie came over one afternoon to play, and then Brian and Scott joined us for dinner that night.
We went to swig a lot, haha! Julie loves swig, and so that was one of the things she had to do while she was here.
Julie and I also took the big boys shopping at the outlets, which she and I didn't relish in the least, but we wanted to be together and her boys wanted to shop. It's funny how much teenage boys care about clothes! People think it's always just women and girls, but I think boys can be just as bad.
Brian and Sammy invited everyone over to their house for a BBQ on Saturday before Julie left. And at that point, Mom and Schpuck were also with us. They had gotten in late the night before. It was fun to spend some time altogether. We chatted a lot and played some yard games and ate. The men played a game with Brooke and Camille, and the little kids played together.
Our visit with Schpuck was a little less fun, in my opinion. She told us early on that she's pregnant, so she was tired and napping a lot and not feeling well, understandably. She also stayed a few days with Scott and Melanie before coming to stay with us. So we had a few days of down time. Mom and Dad also left on their cruise early that week.
While her family was here, we went to a splash pad and the aquarium. On the 4th of July, we had Brian's family and her family over here for a lunch BBQ. We had delicious food and played games in the yard and talked a long while. Then Daniel and I went to his family's 4th of July thing at David's house and Schpuck and Hou joined Brian and Scott and their inlaws for a BBQ dinner.
We love having our cousins and family come visit us! The kids loved playing with their cousins and I loved hanging with my sisters.
Mom and Dad came again at the end of July after their trip to Norway. I picked them up from the airport, they stayed with us a few days, and then they drove home.
